In a reported hate crime, a 55-year-old Indian woman was abused and hit for not wearing masks while on a brisk walk in Singapore. Hindocha Nita Vishnubhai, a private tutor, a brisk walker was first racially abused and later kicked on the chest, an incident described as a hate crime by her daughter. This is the second such incident against Indian-origin people in the country in two weeks after a man was filmed shouting abuses at an Indian family and at a family of Indian expatriates and accusing them of spreading Covid-19. Then man asked the family to “go back” and said they were “spreading the virus here”.
