According to a report sighted by online news portal FMT , Leissner received an invitation for a TIA meeting via a mail from Roger NG. The meeting was scheduled with Terengganu ruler Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin. He was the Yang di-Pertuan Agong at the time.

According to Leissner, the other names attending the meeting were Low Taek Jho or Jho Low, Kenanga Investment Bank group managing director Ramli Ismail, Finance Minister Zafrul Abdul Aziz, who was a director at Kenanga then and himself.

The meeting was majorly scheduled for Sultan Mizan to meet the people of the Kenanga Investment bank. Whereas, Leissner has named Jho Low as the main mastermind of the 1MDB scandal.

Jho Low was the adviser to Sultan Mizan and also had the power to make important decisions in Terengganu Investment Authority. Leissner also said that Jho Low acted as a bridge in getting Goldman Sachs involved in TIA.

On Zafrul being with Kenanga at the time, Leissner said, ” I don’t know if he was at the time. He had moved around in my lifetime as a banker, so I don’t know at this particular time.”
