Former Umno Supreme Council member Lokman Noor Adam has been guilty of contempt of court in 1MDB trial involving former PM Najib Razak. The High Court in Kuala Lumpur has found Lokman Noor Adam of intimidating a witness in the trial. “This court finds the respondent guilty of contempt of court and convicts him accordingly,” said High Court judge Justice Collin Lawrence Sequerah said. Lokman had allegedly intimidated Najib’s former special officer Datuk Amhari Efendi Nazaruddin.

Lokman Noor Adam has been jailed for 1 month, as per a report by Free Malaysia Today. Lokman’s jail term begins today. The judge has also asked Lokman to post a RM3,000 bond in one surety. “This (conduct) is tantamount to interference in the administration of justice,” the judge remarked. Former PM Najib Razak is facing trial on four charges of abuse of power in a corruption scandal totalling to RM2.3 billion.
