At least three UMNO assemblymen have been appointed as ministers in the Sabah cabinet, according to local media. UMNO’s Jafry Ariffin was appointed tourism, culture and environment minister, while UMNO’s Shahelmy Yahya sworn in as community development and people’s well-being minister.
Umno Yakub Khan is the science, technology and innovation minister. PPBM’S Ariffin Arif was made special
minister, while STAR’S Elron Angin sworn in as the youth and sports minister. All five assemblymen were sworn in at a ceremony held in Istana Negeri today.
Earlier, Hajiji Noor, sworn in as the 16th Sabah chief minister on 29 September.
Sabah Barisan Nasional (BN) chairman Bung Moktar Radin was made minister of local government, STAR president Jeffrey Kitingan the agriculture and fishery minister and PBS vice-president Joachim Gunsalam sworn in as industrial development minister.
Sabah PPBM deputy chief Masidi Manjun received his appointment as Works Minister while PBS secretary-general Jahid Jahim sworn in as Rural Development Minister.
