A ferry from Langkawi carrying 312 passengers got stuck near Kuala Perris. It is believed that the propeller of the ferry got stuck in the fishing net and was unable to sail any further. The incident took place at around 9 pm. The ferry, along with 312 individuals, was stuck there for more than two hours before a fishing boat had to tow it to the terminal.

According to the manager of Konsortium Ferry Lime Ventures Sdn Bhd Human Resources and Operations, Captain Baharin Baharom, the ferry, with 312 people on board left the Langkawi’s Kua Passenger Ferry Terminal at 8 pm. An hour later, when it was sailing near Kuala Perris Ferry Terminal, the propeller of the boat got stuck in the net.Â
Finding it impossible to move the ferry further, the company took help from a fishing boat. While the ferry company’s in taking help from the fire department divers, who are trying to cut the fishing net.Â
Captain Baharin said that the situation is now in control, however, the towing work with the help of the fishing boat is still going on.
