UMNO man Nazri Aziz has confirmed that Ahmad Maslan has been nominated for the post of Dewan Rakyat’s Deputy Speaker. The decision comes a week before the Dewan Rakyat sitting begins on September 13.

Meanwhile, many leaders from the opposition bloc have expressed their extreme indignation over Maslan’s name as deputy speaker.

Ahmad Maslan as the speaker of the Dewan Rakyat will leave a huge impact on the glory and height of Parliament, said DAP leader Abdul Aziz Bari.

Perak opposition leader Abdul Aziz further said that Ahmad was brought to court on charges under Section 32 of the Anti -Money Laundering and Anti -Terrorism Financing Act 2001 on January 21 last year.
