Kuala Lumpur: Tan Sri Annuar Musa has expressed his gratitude to the top leadership of Barisan Nasional (BN) and Umno who gave him the opportunity to serve as BN Secretary General, previously. His statement comes hours after he fired from his post in a meeting on Tuesday morning.
In a WhatsApp screenshot shared in a tweet on his Twitter, Annuar explained that he was informed of the news of his dismissal from the post through the media.
“I was told by the media … I was fired as SUA (Secretary General) of BN and SUA MN (Secretary General of Muafakat Nasional).
“I thank you for the opportunity to serve in both positions before this,” he said in WhatsApp which was understood to have been sent to BN Chairman Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
In the meantime, Ketereh MP who is also the Minister of Federal Territories also informed that he will not give any comments regarding the dismissal for now.
“Many are asking for comments … I have no comments at the moment … a period of calm,” he said.
Earlier today, BN sacked Annuar as Secretary General, giving this charge to Umno Secretary General Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan with immedeate effect.
The decision to dismiss was made in a meeting chaired by Ahmad Zahid at the Umno headquarters, today.
