Anwar Talks Tough: No Deals With MPs Facing Corruption Charges

Kuala Lumpur: Maintaining his tough stance against the corruption-tainted MPs, PKR president Anwar Ibrahim today said that he will not take the support of leaders facing charges in court in exchange for their support for him to form a new government.

“What I assured them is that there is no political vendetta, but you must accept the due process, the rule of law and independence of the judiciary,” he said at a press conference today.

Opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim earlier met Yang di-Pertuan Agong to stake the claim at the government. 
Anwar Ibrahim had said last month that he had the numbers to form a new government and that Yang di-Pertuan Agong had consented to grant him an audience.
