Kuala Lumpur: The Budget 2021 proposed by the Perikatan Nasional’s government passed the third and final vote in the parliament with a division vote.
A total of 111 members in the parliament voted in favour of the supply bill and 108 members voted against it.
At RM322.5 billion, the budget will be Malaysia’s biggest. It was surprisingly passed by a voice vote at the second reading in Parliament, with the opposition failing to muster the necessary 15 Members of Parliament to ask for bloc voting.
Earlier, Former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad said that Perikatan Nasional’s government led by Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin might collapse if its fails to seek a third and final vote to pass the government’s Budget 2021.
