Kuala Lumpur: DAP’s Lim Kit Siang today said that he is ready to work with scam-tainted former Prime Minister Najib Razak, however, the latter should first admit to his wrongdoings. The MP said that the idea to “Save Malaysia” transcends all racial, religious and political lines.
“I am prepared to work with any Malaysian to Save Malaysia, not only Dr Mahathir and Muhyiddin, but even with Najib if the prime minister is prepared to admit that he had led the country on a wrong tangent and that Malaysia must be saved with far-reaching democratic and institutional reforms,” he said in a statement.
Lim has been accused of being a political opportunist for joining Dr Mahathir Mohamad and Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin in the campaign to unseat Najib.
The DAP leader added that his support to the “Save Malaysia” campaign, that was initiated by former Dr Mahathir Mohammad, can never be termed as an act of opportunism.
