Cops Enter Shop In Plain Clothes, Extort RM1,400 From Owners, Arrested

In a shocking incident, two policemen allegedly entered a shop in Selangor’s Amang Jaya and extorted RM1,400 from the owners as the customers in the shop were not wearing face masks.

The shop owners paid the money to avoid the arrest but later lodged a complaint with the police.

The two policemen surrendered themselves to the investigating officer later.

The policemen were sent to the custody today following the pending probe into the extortion allegation.

If found guilty, the two cops jailed up to 10 years or with fine or with whipping or with any two of such punishments.

A conditional movement control order (CMCO) imposed in Selangor and the Federal Territories of Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya since Oct 14 makes it mandatory to wear masks in public places.
