KUALA Datuk Ahmad Terrirudin Mohd Salleh Appointed as Malaysia’s New Attorney General, Taking Office on September 6, September 1 — Solicitor General Datuk Ahmad Terrirudin Mohd Salleh has been appointed as Malaysia’s next Attorney General, with his term commencing on September 6, as officially announced by Chief Secretary to the Government, Tan Sri Mohd Zuki Ali.
In
a concise statement, Tan Sri Mohd Zuki revealed that Terrirudin will succeed Tan Sri Idrus Harun, whose tenure as Attorney General is set to conclude on September 5. Idrus initially assumed the role on March 6, 2020, serving a two-year term during the premiership of Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.
Subsequently, Idrus’s tenure was extended for an additional year in 2022, aligning with the leadership of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob. Furthermore, his term was again prolonged for six months, starting March 6 of this year, during the administration of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, with this extension scheduled to conclude next Tuesday.
