In a letter to UMNO president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, he expressed his disappointment in the cabinet line-up. He said all the cabinet posts under Ismail Sabri-led government were filled by MPs from the previous “failed government.
He further added that the elected leaders and members of the government, who replaced the failed government, did receive the blessing from the UMNO leaders.
He thanked UMNO and Zahid for allowing him to play a key role in UMNO’s journey. In the letter, which dated 20 September, he said that he resigns from his post with immediate effect.
The UMNO Advisory Council also includes Zahid, Umno deputy president Mohamad Hasan, Ismail Sabri, and many more. Earlier in July, he urged to change his sitting position in the Dewan Rakyat. He stated that he did not wish to sit with the government representatives as he is not a supporter of the current government.
