Final Suspect Arrested In Retired Researcher’s Murder In Bangsar

Kuala Lumpur: Police have arrested the last suspect, who was involved in the murder and robbery case of a former researcher with the Malaysian Agricultural Research and Development Institute (MARDI).

Dr Wan Hassan Wan Embong was killed in a home invasion at his house in Bangsar by burglars.

Brickfield police chief ACP Anuar Omar confirmed that the 27-year-old is in police custody.

Earlier, Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department (CID) director Datuk Huzir Mohamed revealed that five suspects are believed to have made up the entire group who were involved in the robbery-murder case.

Dr Wan Hassan Wan Embong was slashed on his neck and body and died at the scene while his wife was admitted to the Universiti Malaya Medical Centre (UMMC) with slash wounds to her shoulder.

The burglars attacked him while he was putting up a fight against them when they broke into the house through the kitchen window.
