Kuala Lumpur: A five-star hotel in Teluk Datai, Langkawi suffered severe damage when involved in a second fire for less than 24 hours. The incident took place at Andaman Resort building hours after firefighters managed to under control fire on Tuesday.
According to the Assistant Director of the Fire and Rescue Operations Division, Kedah Fire and Rescue Department, Senior Superintendent of Fire I Mohamadul Ehsan Mohd Zain, the rescue operation started soon after receiving an emergency call at 1.13 am on Wednesday.

“As soon as we arrived at the location, the fire was raging due to strong winds involving the B block building with an area estimated at 300 x 900 feet. Burned almost entirely”, he said in a statement.
According to him, the extinguishing operation focused on the main wing of the building using two fountains from fire engines.
