GE15: Penang Declares Public Holiday On Nov 18

After Selangor and Negeri Sembilan, Penang has also declared a public holiday on November 18. Penang Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow announced that the eve of the polling day for the 15th general election will be a holiday to support the voting rights of the people of Penang.

In a statement, Chow Kon said, “In conjunction with the 15th General Election which will be held on Saturday, Nov 19, 2022, the state government hereby agrees to declare a Special State Holiday on Friday, Nov 18.”

Chow said that the step is to facilitate and encourage the people of Penang to exercise their voting rights in GE15. Penang, Selangor and Negeri Sembilan all three are Pakatan Harapan controlled states.
