Kuala Lumpur: Giving the stern warning to former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, the High Court today said that not to repeat “virtual attacks” on former Bank Negara Malaysia Governor Tan Sri Dr Zeti Akhtar Aziz.
Judge Collin Lawrence Sequerah said although there was no need for the court to impose a “gag order” on Najib, the Pekan Member of Parliament should stop making statements regarding the 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) case as if the trial took place in a public domain.
“In this regard, the court issued a stern warning to the accused not to repeat his actions and the court will take whatever action is necessary to protect the integrity of this institution,” the judge said.
The decision came days after the prosecution urged the court to issue a stern warning against Najib for “attacking” Zeti who is a witness in the 1MDB case.
The court made the decision after the prosecution on Tuesday urged the court to issue a stern warning against Najib for “attacking” Zeti who is a witness in the 1MDB case, via his Facebook.
