Kuala Lumpur: The government has permitted inter-state and interdistrict travel from Monday onwards, except for areas under the enhanced movement control order (EMCO).
Senior Minister of security Ismail Sabri Yaakob announced that inter-state and district movements without police permits would be allowed from 7 December. Adding that all roadblocks and barricades would be removed, however, police would tighten checks on standard operating procedures (SOP).
He also announced that conditional movement control order would be extended until 20 December in some areas including Kuala Lumpur, Sabah, most of Selangor, as well as some parts of Johor, Negeri Sembilan, Kelantan and Perak.
He said that the decision was made considering the current economic conditions, adding that if CMCO continues the nation would suffer a GDP loss of RM300 million per day.
He added that all schools, institutions of higher learning, skills training institutes, pre-schools and tahfiz centres will be closed in areas under CMCO.
