JDT Lowers Flags At Sultan Ibrahim Stadium As Syafiq Ahmad Loses Son In Car Accident

Kuala Lumpur: The flag of the Johor Darul Ta’zim Football Club (JDT) was lowered by a pole at the Sultan Ibrahim Stadium following the tragic car accident of national football player Muhammad Syafiq Ahmad that killed his newly-born 22-day son. The order was issued by the club owner who is also Tunku Mahkota Johor (TMJ), Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim.

“Tunku Ismail has sent His Majesty’s Private Secretary together with the religious officer of the Johor Islamic Religious Department to Penang to help Johor Darul Ta’zim Club player, Syafiq Ahmad who has lost his family members on the spot this morning on the North-South Expressway (PLUS) Sungai Bakap. 

The other two who died in the accident at about 5.30 am at Kilometer 163 of the North-South Highway in Sungai Bakap were his mother-in-law, Zainab Wahab, 45, and an Indonesian maid, Titik Sukamti, in her 30s.

In the incident, Syafiq and another daughter were identified as Aaira Nur Saffiya, 2, with minor injuries, while his wife, Nur Amalina Nur Ain, 25, sustained serious injury.
