Kuala Lumpur: The Kelantan, Terengganu flood is reported to subside with descending number of evacuees in the relief centres. The number has fallen to 37 people at 8 am today from 44 at 8 am yesterday in the temporary evacuation centres (PPS) in Kelantan.
Pasir Mas District Social Welfare Department officer Azizan Aziz said 37 evacuees, from 8 families, which includes two infants are accommodated at the Sekolah Kebangsaan Tok Deh PPS.
In Terengganu, 9 evacuees, from 4 families are sheltered in the only remaining PPS. Head of the Secretariat on the State Disaster Management Committee, Lieutenant Colonel (PA) Che Adam A Rahman said that their houses are still submerged in water.
“Hopefully if the weather improves, they will be able to return home,” he said. Meanwhile,the weather in Kelantan this morning is sunny with no rain.
