Racial unity stands as the linchpin for fostering harmony and ensuring the prosperity of both the populace and the nation, according to Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Sultan Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah. In a recent announcement shared on Istana Negara’s official Facebook page, Sultan Abdullah underscored this imperative, aligning it with the theme of the forthcoming National Day celebration, “Malaysia Madani: Tekad Perpaduan, Penuhi Harapan” (Determination in Unity, Fulfilling Hope).
Racial harmony, Sultan Abdullah affirmed, emerges as a pivotal factor for the nation’s stability, prosperity, and resilience in the face of present and future challenges. Reflecting on historical triumphs, he recollected how the unified spirit of nationalism paved the way for Malaysia’s independence over six decades ago.
Furthermore, Sultan Abdullah called upon the citizenry to duly recognize the contributions of the nation’s past leaders, freedom fighters, and patriots in nurturing unity among the populace. He also highlighted the crucial role played by the security forces in safeguarding the nation’s sovereignty. He emphasized that the duty to safeguard and reinforce the hard-earned harmony and unity rests upon both leaders and the people collectively.
