Kuala Lumpur: DAP leader Lim Kit Siang said today that Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin must explain to the people why his government wants to have emergency powers to rule the nation.
He pointed out that the most significant information has been shared by the Agong, however, Muhyiddin has yet to throw light over his plan.
He stated that Malaysians have to rely on rumours until today, as PM Muhyiddin Yassin has not explained why he wants to suspend parliament and invoke a state of emergency.
“Most unusual and uncharacteristically, Malaysians are getting more information from the Yang di-Pertuan Agong than from the prime minister on the proposal he suggested,” he said in a statement.
He stated that he would not support the PM, which means Muhyiddin Yassin is alone in this.
He suggested that Muhyiddin should be given time to think over this until Budget day i.e 6 November.
As per reports, PM Muhyiddin Yassin is soon likely to invoke the emergency with Agong’s nod.
