Kuala Lumpur: A lawyer has appreciated an offer made by former Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad, who has offered to be called as a witness in court if needed, over the Gombak voter’s legal lawsuit against MP Mohammed Azmin Ali over the alleged breach and deceit of judiciary duty, which caused the Pakatan Harapan government to collapse in February 2020.
Yohendra Nadarajan said that they will take help from those, who want to volunteer as it is a public interest case, however, he will discuss Dr M’s offer with the plaintiff and other legal team members.
He said that they appreciate Dr M coming forth to offer his assistance since the filing of the suit became public on Tuesday.
In a Facebook post yesterday, Dr M promised to help and present himself as a witness if needed in court. He said that the court is the best available forum to establish the validity of accusations presented by plaintiffs.
He said that people questioning and accusing him shows how local politics and constituents have matured.
