Kuala Lumpur: Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi should be given the opportunity to carry out his duties as UMNO President until the term ends in 2021. Despite the view that Ahmad Zahid wanted to “rest,” former UMNO and Barisan Nasional (BN) secretary-general Tan Sri Annuar Musa said the matter should follow the rules set in the Party Constitution.
Writing on Twitter, Musa said, “Whatever the year 2021, this is the election year of MKT (Supreme Working Council). Let the normal process in the party go. Meanwhile, let’s work together to improve the party’s situation.”
Since a few days ago, there are insights and prompt some Umno wing leaders and the head of state to the party to hold elections as soon as possible to resolve the crisis and determine the direction of the biggest Malay party.
It includes suggesting that Ahmad Zahid, who is also a Member of Parliament for Bagan Datuk, take a break from leading the party with respect.
Pontian Division UMNO Youth Chief, Mohd. Helmi Buang said the leaders’ approach must change significantly, according to The Times.
