At least eight houses, three vehicles, and a church have been destroyed by a massive fire in Kampung Babah Bunduon on Saturday morning. The authorities said that they immediately rushed to the spot after receiving an emergency call by 8.50 am. According to reports, no casualties or injuries have been reported in the 8.30 am incident which also affected 10 families.

Soon after the fire broke out, a team of 11 members, two vehicles and, a van from the Emergency Services Assistance Unit (ERMS) were immediately deployed to the scene.
“As soon as the fire arrived, most of the houses in the village had burned down and an immediate extinguishing operation was carried out to control the fire from spreading further,” he said in a statement, today.
According to him, the fire was brought under control at 9.20 am and so far the operation is still continuing.
He said the cause of the fire and the amount of losses are still under investigation.
The reason behind the fire is yet to be ascertained.
