Unbelievable! MCMC Had Bought A Teen’s Twitter Account To Get Followers, Users Now Find Old And Abusive Tweets

Kuala Lumpur: Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission’s (MCMC) Twitter account (@SKMM_MCMC) went dark and was shut down last night after hackers exposed and unearthed old tweets from the account. It was shocking to know for everyone as some of the old tweets were homophobic and abusive.

Social media users started trolling the MCMC, minutes after old tweets from the account went viral, sharing the screenshots with abusive content.

According to Malay Mail, MCMC had bought a Twitter account to create its official Twitter platform from a third person, who had 50,000 followers at that time.

Nazrul Hakim, who created this account, had sold it to a third person when he was 16 year old. He told Malay Mail that sold his account to another Twitter user for RM1,300.

Nazrul claimed that he was not aware that his account was handed over to MCMC by a third person.

MCMC had nearly 70,000 followers before deactivating its account.

After a major embarrassment, meanwhile, several parody Twitter accounts of MCMC have been created. One of them wrote in its MCMC parody Twitter bio; “pinky promise that i won’t say slurs or swear this time (dia/dia).”
