Kuala Lumpur: Parliament is discussing efforts made by the government in tackling illegal immigrants and enforcing laws concerning religious sentiments.

The matter would be raised among the questions to the home minister during the oral answer section, according to the Order paper of the parliament sitting.

The topics include the implementation of the five-year Holistic Plan for the Enforcement Against Illegal Immigrants considering the entry of illegal immigrants into the country, while Ramli Mohd Nor (BN-Cameron Highlands) wants to ask if any changes would be made to existing laws and regulations to provide for heavier punishment to those who play with religious issues.

Maria Chin Abdullah (PH-Petaling Jaya), would be questioning the government’s position in the Rome Statute and on the possibility of Malaysia agreeing to be a member of the International Criminal Court.

After discussing this agenda, the MPs in parliament would also discuss over the Supply Bill 2021 on Budget 2021 for the seventh day.

The parliament would consist of 80 members, with a sitting scheduled for only four hours, from 10 am to 2 pm daily from Monday to Thursday.
