Kuala Lumpur: In a very tragic incident, the father of the national player Muhammad Syafiq Ahmad has lost his newly born son in a car accident on the North-South Expressway (PLUS) Sungai Bakap, here early this morning. His 22-day old son and three people were killed in a horrific car accident. According to local police, the incident took place at 5.30 in the morning in Penang.
His mother-in-law Zainab Wahab and Indonesian maid Titik Sukamti were among those who lost their lives in the accident.
According to a Penang Fire and Rescue Department of Malaysia (JBPM), Muhammad Syafiq Ahmad has sustained minor injuries while his wife Nur Amalina Nur Ain has suffered serious injuries. The couple has been referred to the nearest hospital.
His family were supposed to leave on December 11 but had to be postponed again to the end of this month due to their area in Bayan Baru here being subjected to the Tightened Movement Control Order (TMCO).
