The trial of the corruption charges involving former Prime Minister Najib Razak has been adjourned to June 21, High Court said on Wednesday. The former PM has been facing corruption and money laundering charges related to the RM2.3 billion 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) fund.

Najib Razak Trial: The trial against former PM Najib Razak has been postponed due to the nationwide lockdown. The next hearing will be conducted on June 21. “The trial will continue on June 21 before Judge Collin Lawrence Sequerah if the full movement restriction is not extended,” said deputy public prosecutor Ahmad Akram Gharib when contacted today.
Bernama reported that Najib’s lawyer Wan Aizuddin Wan Mohammed is expected to continue cross-examination of the 10th prosecution witness, Mohd Hazem Abdul Rahman, 49, who is the former chief executive officer of 1MDB, when the trial resumes later.
