Industries and Commodities Minister Mohd Khairuddin Aman Razali must be charged in court for allegedly breaching quarantine rules after his trip from Turkey, former Prime Minister Najib Rajak said.
Najib said the court will decide his punishment. He said if he loses, he can appeal again.
In August, Khairuddin was under-fire for not undergoing self-quarantine, after he returned from his short trip to Turkey. He was even criticised for attending various events and parliament on July 13, just a few days after returning from Turkey.
However, he was charged RM1,000 by the health ministry and later Health director Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah tweeted that police have opened an investigation paper into his case.
Najib further stated that several measures could be taken to curb the spread of the virus, starting with a ban on interstate travel.
He even asked banks to halt the loan repayment moratorium for Sabahans as limited businesses are permitted to operate.
