National Archer Haziq Kamaruddin Dies At 27

Malaysia’s top archer Haziq Kamaruddin passed away today at the age of 27. Haziq died soon after he offered Subuh prayers this morning. A family member said that he collapsed as soon as he came out of the toilet. Haziq had represented Malaysia in the Olympics twice and was preparing for Tokyo Olympics scheduled this year.

National archer Haziq Kamaruddin died today at the age of 27. The reason for the death is not known yet. As per a family member, Haziq came out of the toilet this morning and suddenly collapsed. Following this, he was taken to a hospital where he was declared dead. This happened soon after he offered Subuh prayers on the second day of Hari Raya.

Haziq, the country’s top archer, had competed in two Olympic games – London 2012 and Rio 2016 – and was preparing for a third Olympic scheduled for 2021 in Japan’s Tokyo.

The top archer had also represented Malaysia at various levels for a decade. He had many achievements to his name including a gold medal at the 2011 Asian Grand Prix in Laos and a bronze medal at the 2019 Asia Cup in the Philippines.
