New Cabinet Is Like Old Wine In A New Bottle: Syed Saddiq

Muda president Syed Saddiq called Ismail Sabri’s new cabinet a ‘wasted opportunity’. This comes after newly appointed PM Ismail Sabri announced the members of his cabinet this morning.

Muar MP said there was a reason why Muhyiddin Yassin’s government collapsed. He even criticised Ismail Sabri’s decision to allow some of the ministers from the previous government to continue working.

He said Ismail Sabri lost a fair chance to introduce real institutional reforms by overlooking MPs from UMNO and PAS. He questioned him for appointing MPs who were not performing well and have bad records.

Moments after the announcement, he wrote, “The previous government only took leave of about two weeks before returning to duty.”He said UMNO withdrew its support for Muhyiddin Yassin’s government before it failed to deal with the health and economic crisis.

He further said that even when UMNO got a chance to appoint new cabinet, they repeated their previous mistake. “Cabinet Failed 2.0”, he wrote.

Ismail Sabri, who sworn in as the PM on 21 August, announced the names of his 31 ministers and 38 deputy ministers this morning.
