Former Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad expressed his concern about changing government and said it is not a good time for Ismail Sabri to call for a confidence vote. He said the country is not ready to change another government if Ismail Sabri fails to prove his majority support in the parliament. Ismail Sabri, who replaced Muhyiddin Yassin this month, is the third PM since GE 2018.
According to Dr M, Ismail Sabri should not call for a confidence vote and pass a distrust resolution in parliament to verify his appointment. He said Malaysia would become a global laughing stock if the government had to change again.

At his service centre in Langkawi, Kedah, he said Malaysia does not want to change the prime minister again. “The world is laughing at us,” the 95-year-old leader added.
He also hopes that Ismail Sabri will pick the best candidates for his cabinet based on their relevant experience and knowledge.
