Kuala Lumpur: Senior Minister for Security Ismail Sabri Yaakob said that now three people are allowed to travel together in a car during the conditional movement control order.
Minister said the decision was made considering the numerous requests from the people to ease the two-in-a-car rule.
Earlier, he announced that a passenger could sit next to the driver, after a man in a viral video claimed that he was charged because his wife was sitting next to him.
Ismail Sabri certified that he was fined for using a mobile phone while driving and not because a passenger was sitting in the front seat of the vehicle.
However, now three passengers can travel in a car and this rule is the same for taxis and e-hailing vehicles, he said in a press conference.
