Pandora Papers: Anwar Calls For Debate In Parliament

Opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim has called for an immediate debate in the Parliament on Pandora Papers. According to Anwar, the debate on Pandora Papers is essential in the interest of the county’s people. His statement comes as after several political figures of government and opposition members’ names have appeared in the leaked document of the Pandora Papers.

Taking the matter on social media Anwar Ibrahim said he has sent his suggestion under the Regulation of Meeting 18 (1) Regulations of the Council to the House of Commons. He urged the House to immediately debate this urgent issue as it has mentioned some big names in the country.

“I believe this is also about people’s interests because it also mentions the names of political figures of government as well as opposition”, the Port Dickson MP said in his statement on Facebook.

In his letter PKR leader also mentioned name—deputy finance minister Yamani Hafez Musa, former finance minister Daim Zainuddin, Bagan Datuk MP Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and Selayang MP William Leong, and finance minister Tengku Zafrul Aziz.

He said that the Pandora Papers matter should be addressed in the Dewan Rakyat as national dignity is at stake.
