Kuala Lumpur: Penang Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow has purchased a new Mercedes-Benz S560e luxury hybrid car to replace the Mercedes S300L purchased in 2013.
The Penang State Secretary’s Office (SUK) in a statement today said that the purchase of the car was approved by the Penang Executive Council (MMK) on 29 Nov 2019.
“The purchase of the Mercedes S560e is to replace the existing official car, the Mercedes S300L which was purchased for RM298,263.75 in 2013,” he said.
According to the statement, the date of purchase of the Mercedes S560e is 31 Dec 2020 with a purchase cost of RM458,122.78, which is a savings of RM127,765.22 from the original price.
