Kuala Lumpur: Pakatan Harapan (PH) asked Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin to discuss the 2021 budget with MPs first before tabling it on 6 November 2020.
PH stated that to ensure that all points are covered, it is important to have prior negotiations with the opposition leaders.
The party said that Muhyiddin should call for an urgent meeting to discuss the terms mentioned in the budget so that MPs could negotiate terms before the budget is tabled in parliament.
The joint statement by PKR president Anwar Ibrahim, Parti Amanah Negara president Mohamad Sabu, and DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng came this afternoon after their presidential council meeting.
The budget is scheduled to be tabled on 6 November. Earlier, Agong called for MPs to be politicking and focus on bringing stability in the nation, which came after he had a pre-cabinet meeting with Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin, this afternoon.
He stated that the budget is important, especially for the frontliners, to continue implementing policies and carry out efforts to curb the pandemic.
