Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has officially introduced the New Industrial Master Plan 2030 (NIMP 2030), an ambitious roadmap designed to enhance Malaysia’s manufacturing sector. The plan aims to elevate manufacturing’s value-added by 6.5%, reaching RM587.5 billion by 2030. NIMP 2030’s high-impact sectors encompass electrical and electronics (E&E), chemicals, electric vehicles, aerospace, and pharmaceuticals. Anwar emphasized the plan’s potential to generate high-skilled employment, projecting a 2.3% growth from 2023. This growth will result from increased emphasis on high-value activities and advancements in automation and technology. The government remains confident in the strategy’s ability to significantly impact the nation’s economy.
