PM Muhyiddin Yassin Likely To Resign Tomorrow: Report

Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin is expected to resign from his post tomorrow. He will submit his resignation to The King, Yang di-Pertuan Agong, during his audience with him that will take place tomorrow on Monday.

According to the sources, Muhyiddin Yassin revealed this information during a meeting at the Perikatan Nasional Headquarters at Publika this morning.

It looks like curtains have been drawn on Muhyiddin Yassin’s tenure as the country’s eighth prime minister.

Earlier, it was announced that the motion of confidence against Muhyiddin Yassin will be tabled in the parliament on 7 September. However, his offer of concessions to rival parties in return for their support was rejected.

Muhyiddin’s majority has been questioned after 15 UMNO MPs withdrew their support, following their official decision to break ties. He joined the office as prime minister in March 2020.
