Police Nabs 329 Individuals For Violating CMCO

Kuala Lumpur: Police arrested 329 individuals for various offences under the recovery movement control order (RMCO) yesterday. Senior Minister for Security Ismail Sabri Yaakob said 311 were issued compounds while the rest were remanded.

The violations include not maintaining physical distancing, not wearing face masks, taking part in activities that made physical distancing difficult, breaking quarantine rules and operating businesses beyond the specified time, and failure to record the particulars of guests.

He added that 88 illegal immigrants and five smugglers were arrested and 13 vehicles were seized under Ops Benteng.

He said that checks were conducted in over 17,284 areas by personnel from 2,945 task compliance force teams to ensure all are abiding by the SOPs.

Further adding that 73,713 individuals who flew into the country between 24 July and 23 November had been screened and 10,152 were undergoing mandatory quarantine.
