Kuala Lumpur: Police arrested 312 individuals for various offences under the recovery movement control order (RMCO) yesterday. Senior Minister for Security Ismail Sabri Yaakob said that all 312 were issued compound. The violations include not maintaining physical distancing, not wearing face masks, taking part in activities that made physical distancing difficult, breaking quarantine rules and operating businesses beyond the specified time, and failure to record the particulars of guests.
He added that 18 smugglers suspected of being involved in a shootout at the Malaysia-Thailand border, which killed a General Operations Force (GOF) corporal, were also arrested.
It is believed they smuggled Ketem leaves and cough medicines from Thailand in exchange for syabu, yaba pills and heroin with Malaysia.
