Police Nabs 491 Individuals For violating SOPs

Kuala Lumpur: Police arrested 491 individuals for various offences under the recovery movement control order (RMCO) yesterday. Senior Minister for Security Ismail Sabri Yaakob said 437 people were issued compounds while 54 were remanded.

The violations include not maintaining physical distance, not wearing face masks, taking part in activities that made physical distancing difficult, breaking quarantine rules and operating businesses beyond the specified time, and failed to record the particulars of guests.

Authorities also detained 116 undocumented migrants, while one boat and one vehicle were confiscated yesterday as part of the ongoing Ops Benteng campaign.

Meanwhile, a total of 11,324 individuals are under mandatory quarantine, at 78 hotels and 17 public training institutes. Adding that 509 individuals were sent to hospitals to receive treatment and 69,680 individuals were permitted to return home.
