Police Nabs 717 Individuals For Violating Movement Control Order Rules

Police has arrested 717 individuals for various offences under the recovery movement control order (RMCO) yesterday.

Senior Minister for Security Ismail Sabri Yaakob said 704 were issued compounds while the rest were remanded.

The violations include not maintaining physical distancing, not wearing face masks, taking part in activities that made physical distancing difficult, breaking quarantine rules and operating businesses beyond the specified time, and failure to record the particulars of guests.

He added 22 illegal immigrants were arrested and three vehicles were seized under Ops Benteng.

When asked about preparations for flooding, he said the MKN has decided SOPs for evacuation centres, considering the monsoon season. Adding that the centre will have MySejahtera QR code and every officer or victim will have to download the app.
