Police Permission Not Needed For Crossing States, Districts For Work

No need for the workers who have to cross states and districts to go to offices, multiple senior cops have said today. A number of workers were stopped at the state and district borders yesterday after senior minister Ismail Sabri announced mandatory permission of police for such travel. However, the government has now clarified that the announcement is only for the people travelling for no-work purposes.

Workers crossing state and districts do not require special police permission, the international trade and industry ministry said today. According to the Selangor police chief Arjunaidi Mohamed, a worker will only need his employer and his international trade and industry ministry (Miti) letter to pass the boundaries, news website FMT reported.

Brickfields police chief Anuar Omar also confirmed said that a special police permit was not needed. He also told FMT that workers have been informed about the same.
