Members of Parliament, lawyers, activists and people on social media are demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin and entire cabinet following Istana Negara’s statement on emergency.
The Royal office has expressed its extreme indignation over de facto law minister’s decision on the revocation of National Emergency without Agong’s assent. The Agong said that the government did not even discuss with him the decision to cancel the Emergency.

Following the statement, the opposition leaders hit out at PN government and asked to step down for allegedly misleading people and parliament.
Lawyer Mohamed Haniff Khatri Abdulla said that the government has committed the treason against the Agong and therefore PN and the entire government must resign. Lembah Pantai MP & KEADILAN Communications Director also tweeted that government can resign now.
DAP leaders and former Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation, Yeo Bee Yin, also asked government to step down from the position. “Calls of treason and for PM Muhyiddin Yassin to resign immediately in Parliament, following Istana Negara’s statement,” wrote a Twitter user.
