The Sabah government today announced the distribution of around 10,000 laptops to the eligible SPM and STM students in Sabah. The state’s education department said that it has started identifying the eligible students and the laptops would be soon delivered to them. The laptops are being given under the Bantuan Ihsan Komputer (BAIK) programme, announced by chief minister Hajiji Noor recently.

Sabah Chief Minister Hajiji Noor has said the RM15 million for the distribution of laptops were passed to empower underprivileged students. The laptops would be delivered under phase one of the BAIK programme, from July 19 until Oct 18.
Persatuan Skuad Komuniti Prihatin Sabah (KPS) chairman Mohd Taufik Ismail praised the new initiative but said that only the students who are eligible should get the benefit.
