Sarawak Deputy Chief Minister Tests Positive For Covid

Sarawak Deputy Chief Minister Professor Dr Sim Kui Hian has tested positive for Covid on Monday. Sim Kui Covid test result revealed after undergoing a RT-PCR confirmation. Confirming the news on social media, Deputy Chief Minister also revealed that he did not have any symptoms during the test. As a control measure, he has reported the results through MySejahtera and is undergoing quarantine and self-monitoring for seven days.

“The seven-day quantity is in accordance with the health protocol by the Ministry of Health Malaysia (MOH). For those who have close contact with me a few days ago, please follow the latest MOH SOP regarding close contact case protocol, ” the Deputy Chief Minister said on Facebook.

“I did this PCR test for the purpose of an official visit abroad. I did not experience any symptoms and the daily RTK Antigen self-test I did also did not show a positive result.

“These results are surprising even though I do self-tests every day, wear a face mask, wash my hands, adhere to SOPs, this shows how easy and difficult it is for us to fight the Omicron variant,” he said.
