Kuala Lumpur: The Malaysian government on Sunday expressed its condolences over the Indonesian Boeing 737-500 Sriwijaya air crash incident. The incident took place on Saturday after the aeroplane, carrying over 60 people, lost its communication control and crashed into the Java sea.

Expressing grief over the lives in the plane crash, Malaysian Foreign Minister Hishammuddin Hussein sent a cable of condolence to Indonesian President Joko Widodo after a Sriwijaya Air flight crashed.

“Malaysia mourns and extends its condolences to the government, especially the Indonesian Prime Minister and the Indonesian people for the tragedy that befell Sriwijaya Air yesterday. May family members and friends of the passengers and crew of the aircraft endured this ordeal,” Minister said in his tweet.

Former Malaysian MP and UMNO politician, Budiman Mohd Zohdi also expressed his condolences to the Indonesian President after the tragedy.
