Selangor Internet Data (SID) will provide free internet service for a year to the students, starting October 1. Chief Minister Amirudin Shari said the initiative would benefit a total of 7,000 Selangor People’s Tutoring Programme (PTRS) students. This is to encourage the students to do their academic revision throughout online learning.

Amirudin announced this after distributing free SIM cards to representatives from the Education Office in Selangor. He said the District Education Office will identify eligible students.
Selangor Internet Data will provide up to 15 GB of data every month for free for over a year, and students can activate their SIM cards from October 1. Gombak, Petaling Utama, Petaling Perdana, Sepang, Klang, Hulu Langat, Sabak Bernam, Kuala Selangor and Hulu Selangor are among the districts included in the program.
Earlier on August 4, Amirudin had announced that a total of 70,000 people, including PTRS students in Selangor will be benefited from the SID Data initiative.
The program also includes students from the Selangor State Technical Skills Development Center, online traders under the Selangor e-Bazar, farmers, and single mothers.
