Muar MP Syed Saddiq has roared back after reports said that he is going to be charged for misappropriation of over RM1 million in political funds. Saddiq, who has been facing a number of troubles from the establishment recently, said that charges against him are politically motivated as declined to join the Perikatan Nasional government.
“I will never sell my soul and principles to Perikatan Nasional,” Syed Saddiq said in a video on Twitter. Earlier in the day, a report said that Saddiq will be charged by the MACC with criminal breach of trust.

Saddiq further said that he has always been ready for such situations and has never succumbed to pressure. “It’s in moments like these that I am reminded why I joined politics. The truth will always prevail. I would rather go to court than join Perikatan Nasional,” Saddiq said.
“At 8.30 tomorrow morning, I will go to the Kuala Lumpur Court. And at 8pm, I will have a press conference on Facebook and Instagram,” he said.
Earlier, in January, Saddiq had filed an affidavt in the court and claimed that Home Minister Hamzah Zainudin had asked him to join PN government in return of the registration of his new party Muda.
